Farmington, MI (June 28, 2013) — At Community Living Centers Inc., a simple act of generosity can almost make any day a holiday.
The non-profit organization in Farmington, Michigan, opened in 1968 to provide quality residential care to its 130 resident adults with developmental disabilities. CLC operates 11 group homes and an assisted living program staffed with trained personnel who provide 24-hour care and supervision. Their goal is to improve each of the resident’s lives every day.
Every month for several years, the team at LogoUp has boxed a collection of up to 500 polos, hats, jackets, bags, and t-shirts. The arrival of the boxes, filled with a myriad of products from Nike, Adidas, Calvin Klein, and other apparel brands brighten up the residents’ lives.
“We understand that everyone loves receiving the donation boxes,” said Brian and Scott Roberts, who have an uncle who benefits from CLC’s services. “It’s like a treasure hunt to see what’s inside.”
The LogoUp team also makes monetary donations and sponsors the CLC bowling tournament. They also recently donated custom t-shirts to every resident for the CLC’s 45th year anniversary.
Since most residents have little money, the clothing and coats sent provide comfort and warmth. When a very large shipment arrives, CLC will share its contents for local church homeless programs.
“Between cash donations and products that CLC may sell to the community, the organization is better able to meet its financial needs,” said Lisa A. Murrell, CLC’s Executive Director.
“I would like to personally thank you for your generous donation of 20 large boxes of clothing,” she said. “Donations such as yours help CLC continue to provide the quality services it is known for. Our community is a better place because of the generosity of the Roberts family.”
